This famous cake from Fuhai tea factory was produced in 1999. The leaves are purported to be wild old trees, and while there is certainly a decent percentage of old tree leaves within, I'm not so certain that it is pure. The storage has been excellent. The flavour is pure and clean, displaying the characteristic Yiwu flavours. The liquid could be a little thicker in the mouth, but sits nicely and is smooth and active in the mouth and throat.
The qi is nice - warming and pleasantly poised between uplifting and calming.
Update: (21/01/12): The wholesale price for these has increased in the past year, since we bought our previous stock. Our present price reflects the current pricing.

The Energy of Youth Review by Elliot
Compared with the 2001 Jin Chang Hao Yiwu, this tea is much more volatile and edgy, especially considering it's 2 years older. There's a bit more traditional manufacturing characteristics (bitterness, a touch of smoke) and more of a feeling of blending, so it comes across as firmly residing in its adolescence. That said, I think there's probably a little more going on in complexity and strength in comparison to the 2001 Yiwu. If I were buying a tea to drink now or brew lightly after more aging, it'd be the 2001, but this 1999 tea would be my better bet for longer-term aging, which should only round it out further into a more 'classic' type of aged tea. Rustic Yiwu Review by Antonio Vicoli
I had this tea a few times now, using different brewing vessels and, personally, I find it a bit "rustic", especially in the mouth. The characteristic Yiwu flavour is present and the tea itself has clearly been well stored but there is a lack of elegance in the liquor. A bit harsh when compared with other Yiwu, like the 2001 Jin Chang Hao. Better when smelled (nice plum / sweet tones, typical of this terroir) than when drunk (strong canfor / acidic). Nice Qi, relaxing. (Posted on 19/09/2011)

Very interesting tea Review by edp
I've tried this tea two times, in comparison those I've bought this year in China (comparison will follow on clarthe.blogspot.com).
This tea has a good duration, and been stored slightly wet but not much. This gives balanced and complex flavors, perhaps a little bit more herbal ones than fruity ones, even if all appear.
This tea has an interesting qi and a very good duration.
This is less mature than other teas of 90's of EoT I've tried, but for me this is more interesting.
My mark 4.5 / 5 (Posted on 12/09/2011) -

durable Yi Wu Review by David
My first encounter with this tea left me unimpressed. When I gave it another go with more leaf I was amazed by the difference great yi wu flavor vibrant mouthfeel. I believe the session lasted into three days. You will be rewarded for using a little extra leaf with this tea. This tea is up on my list of must buy cakes. (Posted on 03/09/2011)
