A nicely aged raw (sheng) puerh cake from CNNP Menghai area blended according to the 7532 recipe. The cake has been well stored and has developed a good aged flavour. The liquid is smooth, slipping down the throat and leaving a full mouthfeel and aftertaste.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I was told the price for this tea. Although not quite so complex as some teas from this era, the price makes it an excellent choice for everyday drinking.

1990's Small Yellow Label Review by Sebastien
Disappointing on the first brews : almost looks like a cooked puerh.
However, it is more pleasant on the end of the tasting session, but you really have to increase the brewing times to get something interesting in the teacup.
I like this kind of tasting (not monotonic), which offers a nice progression. Unfortunatly the first part of the tasting is actually less interesting.
However, for this price, this tea offers good 'old puerh' flavors, clean texture and very smooth sips. (Posted on 26/11/2011) -
4/5 Review by Tomas
This tea is excellent value. Better than the Big Yellow Label, an already aged tea with not that much humid taste. It isn't the most complex tea out there, but again, the price/quality ratio may be the best in all western market. (Posted on 30/10/2011)

An autumnal walk in the woods Review by Fabien
Because this tea was a gift, its' price has never been of any importance to me. It's just one of many teas.
And to be honest, every time I drink it, I'm back in the nearby woods, walking calmly between those powerful old and vibrant young trees, smelling nice earthy fragrances, nearly feeling there are some fresh boletus around.
This to say there might have been some wet storage in the past but it has been well integrated and transformed into something round, sweet and relaxing.... like a relaxing moment in the nature.
One enjoyable tea! (Posted on 27/09/2011) -
Bargain Aged Pu-erh Review by Elliot
Far from the most complex or sophisticated aged pu-erh I've ever had, but for the price the quality is outstanding. The flavor retains traces of the tea's youth but enough humidity in the storage has rounded the edges off in most ways. The tea's durability is quite solid and the flavor sits somewhere between earthy/camphory with quite a bit of the sweetness that I associate with huang pian (yellow leaves) being included in the blend. A good example of traditional storage accelerating a tea's aging without robbing it of too much power. Liked it enough for everyday drinking that I bought a whole tong! (Posted on 20/09/2011)

Well...... Review by RC
This tea came recommended to me by a tea friend. I only ordered a sample of it. While it does indeed taste like a more aged tea, and in many respects is probably a very good value, for me it had a bit too much of a wet storage / earthy taste. I realize that many drinkiers seek this out but I think I'm finding that I prefer either young sheng or dry-stored older sheng. (Posted on 12/09/2011)

my first bing Review by Leopold
To anyone reading this review I am just starting my journey through Puerh and so my ability to compare is very limited and I don't know how or when I would use terns like 'qi' or 'huigan'...
I came to Puerh from aged oolongs and have mostly stayed with aged loose Puerh (some of which can be glorious and the best examples I have tasted are sold here) so the Small Yellow Label was the first 'bing' I purchased (as opposed to samples from bings)
The bing was not so compressed that I needed a screwdriver rather a blunt flat knife allowed me to break the first pieces and to do this without (too much apparent) damage to the leaves...
So what was it like? It was like loose aged puerh (remember this is my reference point) in that it was smooth, woody, sweet but refreshingly astringent AND it was in 3D - this is my best attempt at defining the difference - the taste and aftertaste were bigger, lasted longer and were much stronger - I think this is down to a background bitterness (please believe me I mean this is a good and enjoyable manner) which widens out the palette so you taste so much more... and there is a vague fuzziness that sweeps through my brain (again - honestly I am not making this up)
Would I buy this again if it comes back into stock - absolutely... and I feel a little braver about experimenting
So I don't know if this is the best or the worst aged puerh but I do know I really like it and am pleased I have many many more pots I can make and I hope I will find others as good! (Posted on 26/08/2011) -

Very good choice to buy Review by edp
Even if this tea is quite simple, I was really surprised with what I had in my cup for the price.
Many infusions are possible and perhaps without less complexity it has some qualities of mature cakes. It seems that its ageing has been help for a very short time, which could explain the result.
My mark : 5/5
