This Wuyi oolong (not from Master Huang) was stored in Wuyi until 2008, when it was bought and taken to Taiwan. It has been stored since then in Taiwan.
We were offered some of this tea by the Taiwanese collector this Spring and took home a small sample for ourselves. The leaves are quite fragmented. The flavour was slightly subdued, with the characteristic aged medicinal flavour that yancha of this age tends to exhibit. The flavour and aroma wasn't exceptional, but it was the qi of the tea that really set it apart when we drank it. The qi was almost overpowering in strength. I drank one infusion and had to take a break for a while to let it settle a bit.
This is one of the strongest teas in terms of qi that I've drunk in a while.

1985 Shui Xian Review by Israel
A great tea for a winter day. An ice melter. The first brew is quite thick and so dark I can't see the bottom of my cup. A mossy, medicinal flavor, a bit of basement (wet storage?) and roasty berry. A sweetness in the back of the throat is heavy yet fleeting. This is a very strong old tea that opens a hot torrent in one's chest. It is one of the strongest teas I have ever tried. I have learned to proceed slowly through a session so as not to fall off my "tea stool." Many thanks. (Posted on 11/01/2012)
