This beautifully made Japanese silver kettle (ginbin) dates from the first half of the 1900's, pre-WWII.
The handle is beautifully wrapped and the metalwork is excellent. The style is simple and refined with some texture on the surface of the bottom 2/3rds of the kettle.
The pour is exceptionally smooth and precise and it makes excellent tasting water. There is a 'singer' in the bottom of the kettle, helping one judge the temperature of the water from the sound/speed of the bubbles.
There are a few very slight surface scratches and knocks, as might be expected for something of this age, but otherwise in excellent condition.
